Omschrijving

Our Litigation practice is looking for a law assistant with an interest in Corporate Litigation.

You will be employed as a law assistant on a part-time basis, for 15 hours per week, for a period of atleast six-months.

The practice

Unrivalled in breadth, scope, size, the blue-chip nature of our client base, and the sheer number of high-profile cases, our strong focus on dispute and risk management and our full-service litigation practice serves the vast majority of the largest 100 companies headquartered in the Netherlands. With extraordinary value at stake, and unprecedented scale and/or complexity, our clients' matters often attract public interest and a high degree of political sensitivity. They always concern unprecedented situations and questions of law: the law that is, of any and often several jurisdictions, anywhere in the world.

You will find that multidisciplinary and critical minds underpin our integral vision on how we manage our clients' legal exposure. Harnessing the expertise of leading experts both across and outside of the firm, we assess our clients' legal and compliance risks to develop a practical strategy in mitigation. Pragmatic expert advice at the outset of a matter provides transparency around costs, assists clients collect and conserve evidence, and forges the most efficient response to a dispute. A successful litigation strategy requires that we do not shy away from asking the hard questions, with an open and critical mind.

What you can expect as a law assistant

You will be working in a pool together with other law assistants of the practice. Your activities as a law assistant consist of a combination of ‘know-how’ related work and assisting lawyers in the group’s daily practice (including literature and case law research, the preparation of presentations, memo’s and research for internal and external publications).

As a law assistant, you will be able to participate fully in all of our educational and social programmes (both those which are practice specific, and those arranged for the whole firm). You will also participate in our Introduction Day, and have the opportunity to meet other colleagues starting at the same time, in different roles across the firm. Ideally you will share a room with one of our lawyers, and be able to accompany them to any court hearings and client meetings.

However, to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all of our employees (and to comply with national restrictions on working practice during the pandemic), remote working or a hybrid arrangement may be necessary. We use the latest tools and applications to connect, collaborate and work together and would ask for your flexibility and tenacity to embrace whatever the current remote or hybrid working arrangements may be at the time that you start.
